COMMUNICATION
Raintree Elementary School is aware of the need to communicate quickly with the families of
our students and to provide school-related information that is easy to find.
Our two main sources of communication will be through our website: stmaryk12.net/res and
Jtext/Jcalls. Other communication will be in the form of monthly calendars, flyers, notes, or
possibly a post on our Facebook page. Like us on Facebook: RES Eagles.
Only emergency contacts listed on the Pupil Information Sheet will be deemed acceptable to
check a student out of school. Any person(s) not listed on the sheet will not be allowed access
to the child.
It is imperative that Raintree Elementary staff can contact a parent, relative, or close friend to
care for our students in an emergency situation. In the case of extreme illness or injury where
parental contact cannot be made, it will be school’s policy to contact emergency services or
take any such action deemed appropriate with parents bearing responsibility for any charges
incurred.
Please update Pupil Information Sheet as soon as possible any time there is a change,
especially phone number changes, by contacting our front office at 337-923-0494. If you do
9
not receive a call or JText within the first two weeks of school, please contact our office so
that we can correct your cell number.
HOMEWORK CHART
Homework is assigned daily. Students are expected to read 15 minutes or more each night. A
homework chart will be sent home weekly with test dates and homework for the week. Please

CONDUCT CHART
A conduct chart will go home daily to keep you informed on student behavior according to our
school-wide discipline policy. The conduct sheet should be signed and returned daily.
TEST PAPER FOLDER
Each student’s test paper folder will go home on Wednesdays to keep you informed on student
academic progress. This should be signed and returned on Thursdays. Students who do not
return their signed test papers will no longer have their papers sent home until the previous set
of papers have been returned.
Visitors must enter through the front office door, use the buzzed enter system and sign-in. All
visitors and volunteers must have a badge to be on campus. This will assist the school in
guaranteeing the safety of all our students. *You must present your driver’s license upon entry
to the school. Please do not knock on the other doors. Students should never open a door for
anyone. Parents are not allowed to go to classrooms during instructional time. No parents will
be allowed in the halls during instructional time unless escorted by one of the administrators.
